Hippie flashback!

T'ain't no use t' set an' wonder why, babe...
I swear, cabin fever's gettin' to ev'rybody here in Moose Cove! Us'ally it don't land till about mid-Feb. but this year f'r some reason it's hit some folks like a ton o' bricks!

Couple o' them old hippies has got it wicked bad... they're tryin' t' get up a re-vival o' that Woodstock thing back about a million years ago. Put up a poster down t' th' Bait Barrel restaurant an' here at th' library, an' there's even one on th' town hall bulletin board.
Seems they wanta recreate th' whole shootin' match right here in Moose Cove come th' Spring thaw. Seem t' think that spendin' their time plannin' now'll be just th' ticket f'r gettin' past bein' snowed in f'r th' duration o' Winter.

It's that fiddle playin' fella, George, that has that pottery business out on th' Lincoln Road, an' his wife (?) Florence (who usta call herself Moonbeam). They must be havin' flashbacks 'r somethin'.

Florence/Moonbeam drew up th' posters an' they look like somethin' straight outta th' 1960's, all woozly swirlin' letters an' such... flowers an' peace signs...
"Come on along" they say. "Four days of peace, love, an' music at our place. Be part o' th' new age of Aquarius right here in Moose Cove!" An' there's their phone number just as big as all get out f'r folks t' call 'em up an' start signin' on t' get back t' th' land an' spend a weekend doin' who-knows-what?
I think it's cuz they're suddenly great grandparents. Their grandson an' his wife just had their first an' I think it's kinda addled George an Flo's brains, them being old enough t' be great grands.

So we'll see if anything comes of it. Harvey gave a great snort when I told him about it, havin' seen th' poster here at th' library. Molly up th' road said they oughta have better sense, an' Webb, her husband, said he'd be pickled if anybody thought he was gonna get decked out in beads an' a leather vest an' bellbottoms! Rest o' th' town seems pert' much o' th' same opinion.

I'll keep y' posted if anything come of it.
Beyond that, though, we just got lots o' snow an' ice. Pretty normal f'r this time o' year.
I'm just some glad, though, that th' days're actually startin' t' get a mite longer.
