Stella here.
Snowin' again. Harvey ain't none too pleased. He was gonna go ice fishin' up country with a fella from over t' west o' here's got a little camp an' a pond he says is right chock full o' fish. But Harvey's arthritis is kickin' up, what with th' snow an' all, so he's decided t' stay home an' work on that jigsaw puzzle he's been foolin' with f'r so long now.
Some o' you may remember when he started on it, way back when. Said he'd have it done in no time attall.
Well, th' cat took care o' that brag.
'Twas one o' them thousand piece puzzles - th' kind that's got about a jillion pieces all about th' same color... Well, he got pert well into it an' was boastin' he'd be done even sooner'n he'd first thought, when one night th' cat jumped up ont' th' table an' knocked th' whole shebang t' kingdom come. That an' th' cuppa coffee Harvey had settin' there, too.
Th' language that come outta that man... I couldn't begin t' tell ya.
You wouldn't want t' know some o' th' things he said, 'bout th' Jeezly ____ ____ ____ ____ cat an' all her ancestors an' relatives. Like t' blasted th' hair clean offa the poor critter.
She jumped down inta th' mess o' puzzle pieces an' coffee lyin' all over th' rug an' looked up at him as if t' say, "What's all th' fuss about?" an' didn't that about send him right through th' roof!
An' t' boot, all Harvey's swearin' musta dislodged somethin' in th' poor cat's insides cuz next thing y' know, she's horkin' up a hairball th' size of Texas right inta th' middle o' everything.
Now Harvey loves that cat. He won't admit to it, but he does. She's about a thousand years old an' she sleeps tucked up nexta his knees when we go t' bed. But weren't she on his ____ list that day!
So, th' upshot of it 'twas that H. got himself a wicked big sheet o' cardboard an started gluin' down every puzzle piece he put in place. Some of 'em're a mite wrinkled (from th' hairball an' what come up with it an' th' spilt coffee) but he's makin' decent progress.
"Slow an' steady wins th' race," I said t' him.
But I don't think he appreciated my words o' en-couragement none,
Anyways, I'll let y' know when he gets it done. It's comin' inta th' home stretch now so it shouldn't be long.
That's about all I got t' re-port f'r t'day. I don't think th' snow'll amount t' much, an' truth be told, I'm just as pleased that we're both stayin' in an' enjoyin' each other's comp'ny.
Love,
Stella
