Even with that breeze in offa the water, we're vergin' on meltdown here in Moose Cove.
'Course, 'tain't s' bad as the rest o' th' country.
Me an' Harvey an' folks here's some o' th' lucky ones!
Just gonna write somethin' quick... th' library's got air conditionin' but it's busted, so as soon as I get done here, me an' Molly's headin' back t' th' Pier Road in her air conditioned car an' stayin' put.
Their house bein' right up th' road from Harvey an' me, we're both lookin' forward t' just gettin' home an' settin'!
She says Webb (her dearly beloved) keeps sayin' he can't wait t' have t' start plowin' snow again.
Can't say's I blame him.
I'll write somethin' better when I ain't meltin' down like th' wicked witch o' th' west!
(If anybody readin' this owes th' Moose Cove library a fine, pay it up soon's y' can. Mebbe they'll get th' cooler back workin' again!)

Sat'day thoughts
Stella here.
Talked t' Pat G. She said th' benefit concert was just dandy with a whole lotta folks on hand to enjoy th' entertainment.
I kinda wish we'da been there. She said th' music was fine an' that Kendall Morse was wicked humorous. Harvey an' me've always thought he's one o' th' funniest fellas around.
H. usta have his recordin' o' "Moose Turd Pie" an' he about wore it right out. F'r any o' you folks who got delicate sensibilities - I don't recommend tryin' t' find it. But if he ever stumbles on it at a yard sale I guess we'll have another round o' list'nin' to it.
H. an' his buddies think it's some kinda classic.
Th' girls got so's they'd depart th' house whenever he'd play it. "That's disgustin!" they'd say.
I 'member one time Deb had a fella she was sweet on an' he come by one evenin' t' pick her up. Harvey put on that record an' by th' time Deb finished primpin' an' come downstairs H. an' the fella was laughin' 'til they was near cryin'. She quit datin' what's-his-name shortly after that... I s'pose him thinkin' "Moose Turd Pie" was comical kinda set her against him in spite o' his good qualities.
Well, that's all I got t' say f'r now. Hope y' have a fine weekend.

Tupperware story

It's a full moon tonight. Pat G says she's thinkin' o' tellin' th' story about th' time Harvey an' his buddies crashed th' Tupperware party. Tonight at that benefit concert in Brunswick. When I mentioned it t' H. he 'bout fell offa his chair laughin'. Seems his sense o' humor's just as warped now as 'twas back then!
I got a mind t' get him back after all these years...

Back again and catchin' up

Me an' Harvey's doin' fine... thanks t' th' folks who've been askin' Pat G about us. Makes me feel some tickled t' know we got some friends out there who're wonderin'.
Moose Cove's smack in th' middle o' summer. I dunno where all th' out o' state folks come from these days, what with th' price o' gas s' high an' all! Seems t' me that them from away might consider stayin' closer t' home an' savin' their hard-earned $$... but I guess th' pioneerin' genes is alive an' well in a lot o' people - even if there ain't no places left that needs pioneerin'!
It bein' a fine kinda day, Harvey's out on th' boat with our son-in-law, spinnin' tales t' tourists that got no more basis in th' real world than cows flyin' t' th' moon t' refill th' green cheese. That man is FULL o' it!!
This year th' two of 'em decided t' try offerin' a Sight-Seein' "cruise" around th' bay an' out just far enough inta th' real ocean t' make f'r a bumpy enough ride that th' folks from away think theyre headed f'r Spain!
So far it seems t' be a big success. Only mishap so far's been when some kid dropped his ipod... 'r mebbe it was a mp3... overboard an' almost jumped in t' get it back.
If H. hadn't been quick with th' grapplin' hook an' snagged th' fool kid's britches - which H. says were hangin' half-way off his butt th' way some kids wear 'em these days - that fam'ly mighta gone home one teenager shy.
I been bakin' pies f'r th' Sea View restaurant near ev'ry day, so y' c'n see that we been kinda busy.
I did want t' pass along th' word, though, 'bout th' benefit concert that's happenin' down t' Brunswick this Friday (th' 15th). Th' UU church down there had a big fire back in June an' some o' th' folks there are doin' this concert at th' library (Curtis Memorial) t' help raise money t' put th' whole shebang back t'gether again.
Stop by if y' can. It start s at 7:30 an' tickets are by donation.

Wish we could go, but Harvey's gotta be up wicked early next mornin' t' get th' boat ready, an' me, I gotta bake a load o' pies b'fore th' day's heat comes on too bad.
You go, though. It oughta be a real good time!
